Yale and UVM’s global health programs brought me to Kasensero, Uganda as part of a larger project that I shot documenting their medical student exchange program. It’s notorious as the landing point for HIV/AIDS in Uganda, but I went alongside Caring Hands for a yearly medical camp. There are tons of things to be critical about global health programs, medical exchanges and service tourism, but when it comes down to it, bringing doctors to patients that rarely have access to them is hard to knock.
